Woman attends ID parade after flushing false teeth down toilet
A woman who lost her false teeth down the toilet attended a bizarre identity parade after her local water company collected 12 sets for her to check.
Veronica Wight, from Bradford, contacted Yorkshire Water when she accidentally flushed away her new £300 set of teeth.
Workers at the company's main treatment plant trawled through the sewage, found two pairs to add to their collection and cleaned them up for Veronica to have a look at.
Unfortunately, none of the dentures were hers.
Area Sewage Manager Jeremy Housley told Ananova: "You'd be surprised at what people accidentally or deliberately drop down toilets. And yes, we get more than our fair share of false teeth here at Esholt, so her request wasn't as daft as some might think.
"We checked the inlet and found a couple of sets which arrived over the festive period. We added these to a number of others, cleaned them up, and invited her to come along and see if hers were among them.
"Sadly for Veronica, her teeth were not among the dozen put on display. I'm glad we did it, but this has to have been the most bizarre identity parade of all time."
Veronica added: "I only called Yorkshire Water as a last resort and didn't really think they would do anything about it. I couldn't believe it when I was invited down to Esholt to see if any of the teeth there were mine. "
