Telephone numbers in mix up
Callers to a freephone number advertising a US amateur golf tournament were surprised to hear a sultry female voice telling them they had "come to the right place for nasty talk with big-busted girls".
A one digit error published in 100,000 brochures for the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, California, led callers to a sex line instead of the golf line.
Caryn Eaves Person, the event's spokeswoman, told the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin:"As everyone knows who works with printed materials, mistakes happen."
The Tournament of Roses has taken place on New Year's Day in the town every year since 1890 - it includes a gridiron match and a parade.

George: I worked in a shop called Computer Exchange or "CEX" (pronounced "sex"), and the phoneline used to say "welcome to the sex information line". I dont know if they did that as a joke but I had a few puzzled customers.(05/09/2008)
